BEAUTY welcomes back the charming Jean-Louis Forestier to a program comprising some of the most beloved jewels of the orchestral repertoire. The evening opens with the extraordinary Haffner Symphony of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – one of the composer’s most popular and delightful symphonies. Mozart’s masterpiece is a work of youthful spirit overflowing with fresh invention and effortless beauty.

We welcome Australia’s Young Performer of the Year, Cameron Hill, for what promises to be a haunting performance of perhaps the most beloved concerto in the violin repertoire, Mendelssohn’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in E minor. From its first bar, Mendelssohn’s celebrated concerto takes each listener on a memorable and magical journey. Cameron Hill’s remarkable talent will ensure that your journey with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra is unforgettable.

To conclude this outstanding program of powerful masterworks, one of Beethoven’s most brilliant and concise utterances, the Fourth Symphony. A work of vivid beauty, Beethoven’s Fourth is extraordinarily original and immensely satisfying. Its rhythmic assertiveness and imposing structural drama together with elegantly lyrical impulses make this work one of Beethoven’s most graceful and delicious delights.

A concert of sublime beauty.

An evening with the CSO….
                                      …more than words can say.
