The majesty of the glorious second symphony of Sibelius crowns this final concert of the 2009 St.George Business Bank Llewellyn Series. Conducted by Chief Conductor Nicholas Milton, the evening also features Emma-Jane Murphy, one of the most talented cellists of her generation, performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto. The CSO also celebrates the 80th birthday of Australia’s most influential musical voice: composer Peter Sculthorpe with his reworked piece, Port Essington.
