Wednesday 25 and Chopin: Piano Concerto No.2 |
In collaboration with the Polish Embassy, 10.3 celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Polish composer and pianist, Frédéric Chopin. One of the most important masters of Romantic music, the spellbinding poetry of his Piano Concerto No 2 is performed by Daniel de Borah, fresh from European triumphs with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The program concludes with a masterwork from another celebrated Romantic, Johannes Brahms. Symphony No 2 was among his most optimistic utterances and is compelling in its architectural perfection – the sublime structural unity gives it extraordinary and immediate appeal.
